Paula Ospina is an aspiring visual journalist currently based in Bethesda, Maryland. She is currently in her second year pursuing her BFA in photojournalism with a minor in business administration from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
She was influenced by being born in Colombia and attending different service trips to El Salvador and Panama.
She believes strong children create strong communities and if children get the right education and basic humanitarian rights, this will improve future generations to come. She wants to become a photojournalist to hopefully make a change in children’s lives and use her photography to bring attention to issues like lack of education, and malnutrition.
She currently works for The Reporter at RIT as a photographer. She was also selected to participate in the New York Times Student Journalism Institute in the summer of 2015.
